About us
Design and construction, thought through together.
Summit Build & Design is a construction and architecture firm in Kenya. We bring design, planning and building into one coordinated process, so the buildings we deliver work as well in daily use as they do on paper.

Who we are
A firm built around the whole project.
Many construction problems begin as gaps: between the architect and the builder, between the drawing and the site, or between what a client expected and what was agreed. We set up the firm to close those gaps by keeping design and construction thinking in the same conversation from the start.
Our work covers family homes, commercial buildings, renovations and extensions. Some clients come to us with a plot and an idea; others arrive with approved drawings and need a dependable team to build them. Either way, we take time to understand the project before we price it.
We are a practical team. We care about how a building looks, but also about how it drains in the long rains, how easily it can be maintained, and whether it can adapt as the needs of its owners change.
Our mission
To design and build spaces that serve their owners well, through careful planning, quality craftsmanship and clear communication.
Our vision
A built environment in Kenya where good design and dependable construction are the expected standard, not the exception.
Core values
What we hold ourselves to.
- 01
Care
We treat each building as if we will have to live or work in it ourselves, from structure to the smallest finish.
- 02
Honesty
We say what we know, what we do not, and what something will cost, even when the answer is not the one a client hopes to hear.
- 03
Practicality
Good ideas have to survive the site, the budget and the weather. We design and build with all three in mind.
- 04
Responsibility
We own our work and our mistakes, and we put things right.

Design and construction philosophy
Drawn with the site in mind. Built with the drawing in hand.
We start from the site: its slope, orientation, soil, trees, neighbours and climate. Designs that respond to these conditions tend to be more comfortable, more economical and longer lasting.
We design with construction in mind. Details are resolved on paper rather than improvised on site, and materials are chosen for how they will perform and age, not only how they look on handover day.
And we build with the design in mind. The site team understands why decisions were made, which means fewer compromises when practical questions arise during construction.
How we work with clients
A working relationship built on clarity.
- One point of contact
- Each project has a lead who stays with it from the first meeting to handover, so you are never passed between departments.
- Decisions in writing
- Design choices, scope changes and approvals are recorded, so there is a shared reference when questions come up later.
- Progress you can see
- Regular updates with photographs mean you can follow the work closely even if you cannot visit the site often.
- Honest conversations about cost
- If something will cost more or take longer, we tell you early and explain the options, rather than presenting it as a surprise.
